01 · Challenge
Space for machinery and storage on an agricultural site
A contractor in the Barneveld region had been struggling with an overcrowded storage barn for years. The growing machinery, including a large combine harvester and several tractors, no longer fitted in it. There was space on the agricultural site for a new warehouse, but the zoning plan set requirements for maximum eave height, facade cladding and landscape integration. At the same time, the structure had to be calculated for the high snow and wind loads.
02 · Our approach
Steel portal frames, fully calculated
We designed a steel portal frame warehouse with a clear span of 20 metres and an eaves height of 6 metres. The facades were clad with steel profiling in a colour matching the surrounding buildings. The structural calculation for the portal frames, roof structure and foundation slab was entirely handled by us. The building permit was submitted to the municipality of Barneveld. We coordinated the landscape integration in accordance with the applicable rural zoning plan.

640 m² warehouse, permit obtained in 8 weeks
The building permit was granted within 8 weeks of submission. The contractor could start immediately with the construction-ready documents, including foundation, trusses and facade cladding. The warehouse has a clear span without intermediate columns, so that the full 640 m² provides usable floor area for machinery, storage and work activities. After completion, the client was able to store his entire fleet of machines under cover.
